Lisa Parr-Smith LMSW, CAADC-DP, Lead Case Manager
Lisa joined Milford Counseling as a part time case manager in August 2018, but spent the majority of her thirty-two year career as a school social worker. She retired from the public school system in January 2019 to become a full time case manager. Her experience working with at-risk youth in the schools greatly influences her approach; she not only addresses the immediate needs of her clients, but helps them determine long term goals to prepare them for independent living. Lisa earned her Master's in Social Work from the University of Michigan. In addition to holding both a state Clinical and Macro Social Work License, she is a Certified School Social Worker, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and is working towards her Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling.
Lisa’s passion is working with the at-risk population. In addition to her work in case management, she enjoys volunteering as a parent/student advocate and with various organizations that support special populations in Oakland County. She believes in a positive approach to even the direst situation, and employs mindfulness strategies, both personally and with her clients, to foster positive outcomes.
