Organic Garden, Heroin Recovery and Karma

Updated: Jan 14

This is our third year of planting an organic garden over at the It Is Possible Sober Living Homes. We lost touch with patience and our addiction taught us to want everything immediately. We are learning that a lot of great things come through time, hard work and diligence. Such is the healing process for people in recovery. It complements our health. It complements our well-being. It gives us a chance to slow down and meditate and focus on the here and now. It shows us the cycle of life. It shows us how slowly, on a daily basis we can work to cultivate something really great in our life, bring it to fruition, enjoy it, and have peace and gratitude. Me and some of the guys are getting out in the garden, working with our hands, connecting with nature, growing our own food, and eating much healthier. It’s such a great thing to be able to cultivate an organic crop from seed to harvest and then put it on your table and eat it. We are experiencing such positive energy and great nutrition from doing this.

This organic garden is shaping up to be really cool on a lot of levels. This is going to be good.

Whatever we don’t eat we can or donate to our local food bank: Community Sharing
